wall art, for the not as artistic

Lately I have had some smaller spaces around the house that need just a little color or texture.  My brothers (and mama) are crazy talented artist, and I am blessed to have large paintings all over my house that have been given to me by one of the two of them.

But, when it comes to those little spaces sometimes I just need something that I can whip together.  Here are some ideas that I have found:

paint chip art

Ombre art (Danielle Oakey Interiors)

elmers glue, paint any color

chevron paintings (looks great in small frame, too!)

I have not attempted any thumbtack art, but think it could be great on painted plywood or a canvas with some foam behind it.  I'll let yall know how it turns out. Here is my inspiration:

Don't want to do it yourself?  But looking for some simple color, check out these at Made By Girl that are ready to go!

Have yall attempted any art out of the norm lately?  If so, I would love to see! I am learning that often people have more creativity than they realize.  Embrace it and let me know what you whip up!

  1. I'm contemplating painting something for my bedroom, but haven't found the courage just yet. I'll do it one of these days! :)

  3. I have tried the Made By Girl one and posted about something similar a while back. Just buy the real thing from Jen, it's harder than it looks... at least it was for me. Still want to try Daneille's latest proj!
