We all know that I have a deep down, intense love for the Lowcountry.
I have seen a lot of beautiful places, but the place I am blessed to live is really among the top.
Next week we celebrate one year of marriage! (more on that then!)
We decided to getaway and celebrate a little early.
We wanted to explore some other areas of the Lowcountry.
We headed to historic Beaufort, South Carolina.
I would highly recommend the trip to anyone!
The restaurants are amazing (and well decorated), scenery is beautiful,
hotel was fabulous and lots of great galleries and shops!
City Loft Hotel is an old motel that they have refurbished into a fabulous boutique hotel!
Great decor, comfortable beds and excellent service.
It is located right in the heart of downtown.
They even have a flat screen in the bathroom (the hubby's favorite feature!).
I would highly recommend it to anyone heading that way, we will be going back for sure.
For more info on the hotel, check it out here:
City Loft Hotel.
I really can't say enough great things about it!
We enjoyed a lot of walking around (and perfected the timed pictures!)
I will be back one day and make one mine (got my eye on this one)!
On Saturday the we headed to a very relaxing and beautiful day at the pool.
It is about a 10 minute drive, to a great pool that the hotel has teamed
up with to provide for their guests!

| ha, I don't think I could see very well! |
We had a great lunch at
Wren which was a fabulous spot...
Enjoyed some bike riding to check out the beautiful historic district.
We especially wanted to find the Tidalholm.
It is where the movies The Big Chill and Great Santini were filmed.
When I was about 7 years old my parents gave me a fabulous Christmas gift
of a doll house replica of this historic home.
It is huge, probably about 6 ft long by 4ft high. It was fun to see the real home!
Another great meal at
Saltus, the shrimp were to die for and the ambiance was perfect!
It was a fabulous weekend exploring what may be one of my new favorite small coastal towns!
I would recommend the trip to anyone, locals and non.
And, it would be a fabulous boat trip for my Charleston and Edisto friends!
