to the beach...

I love living (and working) near the water! 

It is good for my soul. 

Over the next few weeks we will be 

spending a good bit of time at the beach. 

Here is what I plan on packing for a weekend trip--

on the beach: tunic // one piece or here // hat // sandals // bikini // sunglasses // tshirt // white shorts
off the beach: blouse // denim shorts // necklace // sandals // white skinnies // summer sweater // earrings // flats

What more could you need?

Although, temps in the 100's this weekend, 

means I may just stick with a swimsuit at all times. 

...its gonna be hot yall. 

project pillows

I have been inspired, 

this original post from my fave, Jenny. 

And, then being kindly reminded of it by my girl, Kristin. 

It has kicked my rear in gear. 

It is time to fix the pillow situation on my couch. 

(I wont even show you a before picture.)

I have some fabric and pillows already to work with. 

But, need to make some additions as well. 

Here is what I am thinking --

one: white with black trim, chiang mai, spotted

two: la fiorentina, chiang mai, 

three: fiddle leaf fig, animal print, hand painted geometric (that is just a computer generated example) and use chiang mai in a chair

Number two has sort of captured me.

The room doesn't have a ton of pattern,

so I feel like I could really pull it off.

Maybe, Ill do the black and white spotted instead of greek key.

I figured it was time to fill you in on one of my day jobs...

This year is my fifth anniversary of planning the

 Edisto Marina Governor's Cup Billfishing Tournament!

It is a really fun job, that I am very grateful for. I am the event director from start to finish. 

That means I am busy raising sponsorship, as well as designing every aspect of the week!

Every year we have a fleet of around 30 sport fishers that go offshore to the gulfstream

 to try their hand at catching the biggest mahi, tuna, wahoo, sail or 

marlin they can. We also have a great conservation program for 

marlin and sailfish that need to stay in our blue waters!

So, all that said it is a busy season for me.

I spotted the ever famous Arizona Tibi line back in early spring. 

I was instantly hooked. 

But, decided that it would be smart to wait 

and see if I could snag a piece with a better price tag!

Well, that just happened.

I am knee deep in work. 

Grateful, but a lot to do! 

So, I'll make it quick. 

I have been eyeing this bathroom all weekend. 

I love the color scheme, the eclectic but still classic look.

color, color, color

It is one of my favorite things about summer: color. 

I find my self wearing it in almost every ensemble, 

versus my normal winter neutrals! 

I want it in my house, my closet and my cooking! 

My dear hubby knew I need a pick me up this week

so he brought me home those most fabulous 

deep pink peonies, COLOR!

And last night I wanted to serve up a colorful plate.

So, crab cakes, cheese grits, asparagus and fresh tomatoes it was:

wednesday wishing...

I guess it is the downfall of loving design,  

constantly wanting to paint something, buy a new rug, change this or that!

Well, we think there is a move in our future (new house, same city, before 2013).

So, that means all the changes I wanted to make 

happen in our home need to either wait, translate well into a new space 

or make our house more appealing for buyers/renters.

Here are a few plans:

rug inspiration // pillows

I just love how soothing the white and gray are. 

We are really wanting a new rug for our living room,

and a kilim like that could be used anywhere! 

My pillow situation on our couch is bad, 

because I have bought the fabrics based on new

paint colors, but yet to paint. 

Therefore, yet to sew new pillows. 

So, when my busy season is over, it will be project time around here!
